How to Add a Mirror to Your Healing Room
I have been asked a few times about where to place a mirror in a therapy room for people who offer bodywork. In Feng Shui, mirrors are a powerful tool for reflecting and moving energy through a space. Due to their reflective properties, mirrors in a healing room should be placed with intention to support a client’s healing and to create a calming environment.
Use mirrors sparingly: One of my top recommendations is to limit the number of mirrors you have in your healing space. Particularly, limit any mirrors near the head of your client. This is similar to the concept of eliminating mirrors facing your bed to help with obtaining a peaceful night’s sleep. Mirrors will reflect and bounce energy as your client is in a relaxation state.
Avoid reflecting negative energy: My other top recommendation is to make sure the mirror is not reflecting any negative energy in the room, such as clutter, a garbage can, dirty towels, etc. This can create a sense of unease in your client.
Reflect natural light: Placing a mirror opposite a window can help to reflect and amplify the light in the room, creating a brighter and more uplifting atmosphere.
Enhance positive energy: Consider placing the mirror to reflect positive items, such as calming artwork, a healthy plant, a water fountain, etc., to enhance the positive energy in the space.
A healing room is a designed for relaxation and healing. In this space, mirrors can be used to create a peaceful environment that helps support the healing process. By reflecting positive energy, amplifying natural light, and enhancing the beauty of the space, mirrors can play an important role in supporting your client’s wellness.
