Marketing Without Social Media: Part 2
MARKETING WITH AUTHENTICITY
I believe marketing campaigns are most effective when we come from a place of authenticity. It is important to find a channel that aligns with who you are as a person and business. If you do not align with social media, don’t spend all your time there. I think more and more businesses are realizing that social media channels are loud and everyone is fighting to be seen. So much focus is placed on having a social media plan and hiring the right social media manager, that we forget there are other ways of advertising.
Of course, I still will post on social media to stay present and for people to find out more information about me. However, I only post when I am feeling called to. As an intorvert, I have started to understand how I most So effectively communicate with my clients - through teaching, writing, and serving.
Marketing without social media can be done through various traditional channels such as radio, print, and out-of-home advertising. Although these methods are not as popular, I wanted to include them as an option to get your business name out to your audience. Additionally, businesses can also focus on in-person events, public relations, and email marketing. Building relationships with customers through face-to-face interactions, word-of-mouth referrals, and building a strong brand can also be effective marketing strategies without the use of social media.
Below are some ideas of where you can market your business. Create a list of ideas where you feel most authentic when connecting wiht your audience.
Public Relations: Reach out to local newspapers / magazines to try and get coverage for your business.
Networking: Attend events and fairs to build relationships with other business owners and potential clients. In addition, consider joinging a business networking group if your community has one. Think about where your clients/customers spend there time.
Influencer Marketing: Partner with influencers in your industry to help promote your products or services.
Content Marketing: Create valuable and informative content, such as blog posts, infographics, and e-books, to attract and engage your target audience.
Referral Marketing: Encourage your existing customers to refer their friends and family to your business by offering incentives.
Email Marketing: Keep your customers informed about new products, promotions, and events through email marketing campaigns.
Direct mail: Send postcards, brochures or catalogs to a targeted list of potential customers, who may be interested in your products or services.
Product Sampling: Distribute samples of your products to potential customers to help generate interest and sales. If you have a service-based business, offer a free mini session to clients who book with you for the first time.
Print / Digital Marketing: Advertise in local newspapers, magazines, and other channels. Also, advertise on local business websites and newsletters. A great example of this would be your chamber of commerce or local paper/magazine’s website.
